Willy Russell's Blood Brothers, the play version, which tells the story offraternal twins who are separated at birth.Deserted by her husband, Mrs Johnston already has five children and is expecting twins. She cleans house for childless Mrs Lyons who offers unofficially to adoptone of the babies. Mrs Johnston reluctantly agrees; she knows that the child will be well brought up in a prosperous household. But, there is a prophesy that twins parted at birth will die when they discover thetruth, and both mothers do their best to keep the twins, Mickey Johnston and Edward Lyons, well separated. The two boys grow up in two very differentenvironments, one in poverty and one of great privilege and both unaware that they are twins. They meet and become best friends- until a misunderstanding leads to a tragic end.
